In the heart of Pune, a bustling city known for its vibrant culture and innovation, we embarked on a journey to design a living room that would be a reflection of its dynamic spirit. The occupants had a clear vision - they wanted their living space to burst with colour, exude liveliness, and offer an oasis of relaxation. In this blog, we'll take you through the transformation of this long living room, divided into a welcoming foyer and a cosy family lounge. Additionally, we'll explore how we seamlessly incorporated the attached balcony, marrying the indoors with the outdoors to let natural light dance across the entire space.
A Burst of Colourful Life:
The first step in creating this modern Indian living room was to infuse it with vibrant colors. Pune's lively atmosphere inspired our color palette, which included an array of bold and lively hues. From orange tone and deep blues to earthy greens and warm yellows, the room became a canvas of exuberance. These colors not only add visual interest but also reflect the vivacious spirit of the city.
Division Through Design:
To visually divide the long living room, we employed a clever furniture layout and strategically placed decor accents. The foyer, designed to be a welcoming space, featured a stylish console table adorned with local art pieces and vibrant flowers. This demarcation created a clear transition from the foyer to the family lounge, while maintaining an open and airy feel.
A Seamless Blend of Indoors and Outdoors:
One of the standout features of this living room was the attached balcony, a precious extension of the indoor space. We aimed to create a seamless connection between the two, allowing residents to enjoy the best of both worlds. To achieve this, we dressed the end-to-end window wall with tall sheer curtains. These curtains not only added an elegant touch but also ensured that maximum natural light streamed in, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. When drawn aside, they offered unobstructed access to the balcony, inviting the outdoors in and vice versa.
A Sanctuary of Relaxation:
While colors and vibrancy are celebrated, relaxation was equally important. We carefully selected comfortable and stylish furniture pieces that allowed residents and guests to unwind in style. Plush sofas, inviting armchair, and ottomans provided ample seating options for various social gatherings or peaceful moments of solitude.
